Our client is an American company who has a center in Budapest, and they are looking for a Manager to the Programming Accounting team.

What you will be doing:
• Supervise, coach, and mentor a team of accounting professionals (6-8 direct reports)
• Prepare performance reviews for the staff supervised
• Review and approve journal entries up to the assigned limits
• Ensure that all relevant key controls are in place and functioning properly in accordance with internal policies and procedures and Sarbanes Oxley rules and regulations
• Work with external auditors during quarterly and annual reviews/audits by preparing information requests and addressing inquiries.
• Ensure that the team supervised carries out the following tasks as per the set timeline:
o Process requests for creating programming projects and asset master data, set the budget for the projects
o Review and approve invoices of vendors related to programming licenses
o Prepare and book monthly capitalization entries for the titles starting their license window
o Prepare analysis around intercompany cost transfers and confirm liability balances
o Process monthly amortization for programming assets
o Prepare and park journal entries
o Process disposals, impairments, or write-offs in relation to programming assets (as required)
o Prepare monthly account reconciliations for programming assets and obligations
o Prepare program asset and liability account roll forward reporting and information supporting financial statement disclosures
o Complete metrics and commentary to support our narrative to senior management
o Prepare and maintain commitments and contingencies schedules
Requirements that make you the best candidate:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
• Strong Team leadership aspiration or experience
• Demonstrate the ability to perform effective workload prioritization and management
• Implement improved business processes for the business and within the functional area
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to be thorough with attention to detail
• Strong communication skills (oral, written & listening)
• Business English (B2/C1 or above)
• CPA, ACCA (or equivalent) a plus
• Experience in HFM, Longview and/or SAP a strong plus
