Spanish Speaking Accountants (Transition Project)

 

Our multinational partner is looking for experienced Spanish speaking candidates for their exciting new Accounting Transition Project from Spain. We are looking for AP, Payment and GL Accountants for the expanding team. Travel will be included in the job in the first months of the project. This is a great opportunity for enthusiastic and experienced SSC accountant candidates who are willing to travel and be part of a growing center in Budapest.

Job summary

AP and Payment Accountant role:

  • Be involved in the transition of accounting processes from Spanish entities to Hungary and actively shape a new SCE in Budapest
  • Prepare, validate and regularly update Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Desktop Procedure
  • Be involved in day-to-day operations and participate in the periodical closing processes
  • Participate in projects assigned to the role (incl. Process optimization)
  • Support in defining main KPI’s and the delivery model of Shared Service Center (SSC).
  • Be adherent to agreed service levels, policies and procedures.
  • Determine, evaluate and resolve issues,
  • Identify and work on process improvements
  • Be the ambassador of our organization towards our Suppliers
  • Active role during internal and external audits.

 

General Ledger Accountant role:

  • Manage Manual & Semi automatic postings
  • Calculate inventory adjustments, reconcile reports, calculate provisions,
  • Balance Sheet: Banking
  • Bank statement posting to GL accounts
  • FX transaction and perform posting
  • Decide on Accounting treatment for deferred items, perform postings
  • Accrual and provision management
  • Manage Profit & Loss
  • General Ledger Closing
  • Own and manage internal operational controls, Prepare documentation for auditor/tax authorities
  • As part of the General Ledger Accountant role, manage Asset Accounting related activities:
    • Asset master data maintenance, setting up of asset classes
    • Managing acquisitions, disposals, revaluation, depreciation
    • AA closing activities
  • Be adherent to agreed service levels, policies and procedures
  • Identify, evaluate and resolve issues (incl. process improvements)

 

Requirements:

  • College or University degree (preferably in Economics or Finance with major in accounting or equivalent qualification)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience (ideally several years) in accounting in SSC environment
  • Transition experience is beneficial
  • Very good understanding of the accounting processes
  • Continuous Improvement and Quality (CI&Q) mindset
  • Strong customer orientation and excellent communication skills
  • Strong English and Spanish language skills (ideally Hungarian skills as well)
  • Very good knowledge of SAP FI or other ERP system
  • Enthusiasm for establishing and ramping up a new Shared Service Center
  • Ability/willingness to travel (1-4 of days per week for couple of weeks)
  • Self-starting attitude and ability to work independently
