Our American multinational partner is looking for Statutory Accountant colleagues for their brand-new team.

This position is responsible for the end-to-end preparation, review, and filing of statutory financial statements under various European local GAAPs for multiple legal entities, ensuring full alignment and reconciliation with US GAAP group reporting.

The ideal candidate should have 3+ years of statutory accounting experience, and fluent English and French/Spanish or German knowledge.

Your tasks will be as a Statutory Accountant:

  • Prepare and review annual statutory financial statements for multiple European legal entities (e.g., UK GAAP, HGB, French GAAP) and reconcile them to US GAAP management/group accounts.
  • Develop and maintain detailed local-to-US GAAP bridge schedules and adjustment workings.
  • Coordinate year-end statutory audits, address auditor inquiries, and ensure timely issuance of clean audit opinions.
  • Ensure on-time filing with local registries and authorities.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, narrative disclosures, and robust audit files.
  • Review local postings impacting statutory ledgers (e.g., dividends, capital injections, impairments, intercompany transactions).
  • Support monthly and quarterly close processes by maintaining local-to-US GAAP mappings, statutory reserves, and disclosures.
  • Assist with legal entity changes (M&A, mergers, carve-outs, liquidations) and ensure accurate reflection in statutory filings.
  • Collaborate with Tax on CIT and WHT disclosures included in statutory accounts.
  • Interpret changes in US GAAP or local GAAP impacting statutory reporting and update processes accordingly.
  • Enforce controls and documentation aligned with US SOX and the global control framework.
  • Drive standardization and automation of statutory reporting processes and templates across entities and jurisdictions.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and French/German or Spanish
  • Strong experience in statutory reporting within a multinational environment or a Big 4.
  • Practical knowledge of US GAAP and at least one major European GAAP (e.g., UK, German, French, Dutch).
  • Proven track record in managing external audits and statutory filings.
  • Strong control mindset with excellent documentation and reconciliation discipline.
  • Experience in Shared Services or Global Business Services environments.
  • Comfortable working in a global, matrixed, and remote stakeholder environment.
