On behalf of our multinational partner, we are looking for a new colleague to join their team as a French-speaking Cost Accounting Analyst.
Our client operates a smaller-scale Shared Service Center in Budapest with around 80 employees. Due to team expansion, they are now seeking their newest team member to join a close-knit team of 5.
The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of experience in cost accounting and possess fluent French and English language skills.
Your tasks will be as a Cost Accounting Analyst:
- Ensure the availability of accurate and reliable financial data to support strategic decision-making (including product costing, fixed cost allocations, project-related expenses, etc.)
- Review and analyze product cost forecasts (quantities and unit rates), and update activity type pricing to maintain accurate standard costs across all products
- Investigate cost variances (differences between standard and actual costs recorded in the general ledger), collaborate with production teams to implement corrective measures, and communicate findings to Business Finance
- Perform key month-end closing activities within Controlling, such as settling process and work orders, applying FIFO valuation, posting internal sales, and executing cost center assessments
- Respond to ad hoc requests and provide support to internal stakeholders including Controlling, Group Controlling, local site teams, and external auditors
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or controlling, and are enthusiastic about working in a global, English-speaking environment
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role and demonstrate strong skills in data analysis and validation. Ideally, you’re well-versed in current accounting standards and committed to delivering high-quality results
- Proficiency in English, French, and Hungarian (spoken and written)
- You work independently, with a structured and goal-oriented approach
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP), and a basic understanding of SAP FI/CO is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills
