We are looking for a Technical Accounting Lead to join our multinational partner’s team.

The Technical Accounting Lead is an SME providing expert technical accounting guidance to the EMEA Controllership organization. The role serves a key advisory and governance function, supporting statutory and regulatory compliance, operational accounting activities, SOX requirements, and regional initiatives.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience in a technical accounting or Accounting SME role and is fluent in English.

Your tasks will be as Technical Lead Accountant:

Technical Accounting Advisory (SME Function)

  • Serve as the primary technical accounting advisor to EMEA Controllership COE and Country Controllers on complex and judgment‑based matters under IFRS, local GAAP, and Group/SOX policies.
  • Interpret accounting standards and internal policies, define clear accounting positions, and prepare technical accounting memos for management and audit purposes.

Complex Accounting & Controls

  • Lead and support complex accounting areas across EMEA entities, including goodwill and investment impairment, income tax reconciliations, and lease accounting.
  • Provide technical accounting support for corporate transformations (e.g. entity rationalization and reorganizations), including residual goodwill calculations.
  • Develop and implement standardized, scalable processes, documentation, and review frameworks to support statutory reporting, audits, and compliance.
  • Identify control gaps and process inefficiencies and support improvement initiatives to strengthen governance and reporting quality.

Standardization & Knowledge Sharing

  • Drive harmonization of accounting practices and documentation standards across the EMEA controllership organization.
  • Collaborate with global teams to ensure consistency of accounting approaches.
  • Maintain technical documentation and deliver guidance and targeted training to build controllership capabilities across EMEA.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification.
  • Extensive experience in operational and statutory accounting within a multinational environment.
  • Strong IFRS expertise; multi-GAAP exposure advantageous.
  • Prior experience working with external auditors on complex accounting matters.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
