Regional Controlling Manager

Job description

We are looking for a Regional Controlling Manager (covering 4 sites) for our client, a company with a stable international presence.

The teams (4 direct reports) and the functional leader are spread across multiple units, so experience in managing remote teams is essential, especially within a European context.

Our client operates in the manufacturing sector, and the sites under this role’s responsibility are located in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Belgium, with a mixed portfolio of commercial offices and production units. (Experience in a manufacturing environment is a must.)

Travel to the sites is expected approximately every two months, but a high level of travel readiness is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the timely and accurate completion of Group IFRS financial reporting requirements
  • Develop and implement robust financial policies, frameworks, and systems to ensure effective governance and control over financial transactions
  • Lead the budgeting process, including the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
  • Oversee internal control frameworks to safeguard assets and ensure financial operations support both short- and long-term business goals
  • Manage external audit processes, ensuring compliance and timely resolution of audit findings
  • Foster and maintain strategic relationships with internal auditors, external auditors, tax advisors, and relevant governmental authorities
  • Act as a strategic finance business partner, providing financial insight, advisory, and decision-making support to department heads across all sites
  • Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth
  • Direct and oversee all accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and transactional processes

 

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience, preferably within a diverse portfolio including both manufacturing and commercial operations
  • Proven leadership experience of at least 5 years, with a confident and effective management style
  • CPA qualification is required; an IFRS certification is considered a strong advantage
  • Relevant higher education is essential; an MBA would be a significant asset
  • Experience in international, matrix-structured organizations is highly valued
  • Demonstrated success in achieving results under challenging implementation circumstances
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen combined with an ownership mindset
