American electrical distributor and electronics manufacturing company is looking for a Commodity Specialist colleague who could work in collaboration with the Commodity Leader in managing a supplier portfolio, furthermore acquiring new potential suppliers. What you will be doing as a Commodity Specialist:
- Support Commodity Leader and the Sourcing team in developing and executing strategies to support the business units
- Responsible for all sourcing activities for the commodities assigned
- Initiate, develop and support strategic opportunities to maximize the value of the assigned commodities
- Work with related operational areas to gain an excellent understanding of commodity applications in various operations
- Establish strong communication and coordination with the Commodity Manager. Work jointly to develop cost reduction and value enhanced procurement opportunities.
- Gathering market intelligence and supplier relationship management
- Develop excellent knowledge concerning all facets of the supply chain from suppliers’ sources to manufacturing processes and final application of all assigned commodities
Requirements:
- Fluency in English
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2-3 years experience related experience
- Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of any ERP system is an advantage
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
- Experience negotiating costs, lead time and minimums
