We are currently seeking a Regional Controlling Manager on behalf of our client, a well-established international manufacturing company with operations across multiple European locations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys operating in an international environment and driving performance across multiple locations.

The role has responsibility for four sites across Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Belgium, covering both manufacturing facilities and commercial entities.

As the finance organization operates in a complex international matrix environment, experience leading and influencing stakeholders across countries, functions and reporting lines is considered essential.

The teams are well established and can be effectively managed remotely; therefore, extensive travel is not expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the timely and accurate completion of Group IFRS financial reporting requirements
  • Develop and implement robust financial policies, frameworks, and systems to ensure effective governance and control over financial transactions
  • Lead the budgeting process, including the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
  • Oversee internal control frameworks to safeguard assets and ensure financial operations support both short- and long-term business goals
  • Manage external audit processes, ensuring compliance and timely resolution of audit findings
  • Foster and maintain strategic relationships with internal auditors, external auditors, tax advisors, and relevant governmental authorities
  • Act as a strategic finance business partner, providing financial insight, advisory, and decision-making support to department heads across all sites
  • Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth
  • Direct and oversee all accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and transactional processes

Requirements

  • 10+ years of finance and controlling experience, including a strong manufacturing background
  • Proven people leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role
  • CPA qualification is required; IFRS knowledge or certification is considered an advantage
  • Relevant higher education is essential; an MBA would be a strong asset
  • Experience gained within international, matrix-structured organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results and drive performance in complex business environments
  • Strong business acumen combined with a hands-on, ownership-driven mindset
  • Strategic approach with the ability to act as a trusted business partner to senior functional leaders
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across multiple organizational levels
