Project Manager
Join our client, a leading international sports retailer, as a Project Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping their payment strategy. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about online payment systems, skilled in strategic thinking, and adept at managing complex projects from inception to completion.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Comprehensive Payment Strategy (Offline & Online):
- Coordinate processes between stores and online channels to ensure a unified customer experience.
- Manage strategy creation and implementation in collaboration with legal, finance, and IT departments.
- Select and manage credit and BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later) partners, launch products, and develop strategies to enhance modern financing solutions.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of physical and digital gift cards across all channels.
- Payment Provider Management:
- Maintain relationships with banks, acquirers, and fintech providers; manage competitive bidding and negotiate fees.
- Establish contractual terms to secure the most favorable conditions for the company.
- E-commerce Product Ownership (Lower Funnel):
- Manage the checkout process and related online elements (cart, profile).
- Incorporate offline experiences into online developments.
- Identify and resolve payment errors in collaboration with the international development team.
- Innovation and Financial Synergy:
- Introduce omnichannel solutions that enhance the interoperability between online and offline channels.
- Continuously analyze transaction costs and provide optimization proposals to financial leadership.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience as a Project manager in a retail/e-commerce and/or digital environment
- Highly value extensive experience in managing online payment projects, including familiarity with the latest trends and technologies in the payment industry
- Good understanding of omnichannel operations.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on long-term business impact.
- Experienced in negotiation and capable of confidently representing business interests.
- Solid financial background with a deep understanding of payment solutions.
- Proficient in English; fluency in Hungarian is a strong plus.
- Assertive and collaborative communication style.
- Strong business acumen with a natural inclination for ROI and cost/benefit analysis.
- Ability to integrate Finance, IT, and store operations to steer stakeholders toward common solutions.
