We are looking for a Statutory Manager to join our multinational partner’s team.
A hands-on leadership role requiring strong statutory accounting expertise. The Statutory Manager supports the team during peak periods, provides technical guidance, and ensures high-quality, compliant, and timely delivery. The role also partners with key stakeholders across EMEA, driving standardization, compliance, and continuous improvement across multiple jurisdictions.
Your tasks will be as Statutory Manager:
- Lead a team of 13 statutory accounting professionals across Budapest and Manila, supported by 2 supervisors
- Operate as a hands-on leader, delivering subject matter expertise, technical guidance, and stepping in during peak periods, absences, or complex cases
- Review key outputs, processes, and critical accounting judgments to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance
- Establish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with Country Controllers, auditors, tax teams, and EMEA finance leadership across multiple jurisdictions
- Manage workload distribution, prioritization, and coordination of statutory reporting and audit timelines
- Drive the transition of statutory activities from local teams or external providers into the COE
- Review post-close group trial balances and validate inputs for statutory reporting
- Oversee GAAP-to-statutory reconciliations, including local adjustments and reclassifications
- Review statutory financial statements and disclosures prior to Country Controller sign-off
- Ensure adherence to local accounting standards, statutory filing requirements, and deadlines across all entities
- Provide hands-on support on complex statutory and technical accounting matters
- Support statutory compliance activities, including regulatory filings and legal documentation
- Act as the main point of contact for external auditors across EMEA entities
- Oversee the full statutory audit lifecycle, from planning through execution and completion
- Review audit deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency
- Provide expert guidance on complex audit topics and escalate issues where necessary
- Drive standardization, documentation, and harmonization of statutory processes within the COE
- Support the implementation of tools, automation, and continuous efficiency improvements
- Contribute to regional initiatives such as entity rationalization, reorganizations, tax audits, and finance transformation programs
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes, scalability, and the overall control environment
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s, CPA, or ACCA preferred
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in statutory reporting, accounting, or controllership within a multinational environment
- Leadership experience managing cross-location teams; SSC experience preferred
- Strong technical expertise in statutory accounting and local GAAP requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work as a hands-on manager with strong advisory and review capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across functions and geographies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, multi-country environment.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial tools.
